Persistent scratching with eczema skin

Dry skin is a fairly common occurrence. It can also be a serious problem if you have eczema. Simply put, dry skin often itches, and, for those with eczema, scratching it only triggers more itching and inflammation. With proper care, though, there are things you can do to help reduce dry skin and itching. A common symptom is itchiness that can become very uncomfortable. The skin has an overall dryness, can become very red, and highly inflamed. Persistent scratching only worsens the condition and can cause skin infections. Skin has special cells that react when they come in contact with anything that irritates them. They make the skin inflamed to protect it. If you have eczema, you have more of these special cells than other people do. These cells overreact when something triggers them and they start to work overtime.
